Feuerheerd 1963 (unknown UK bottler): 1 hour after opening this was a lovely colour but had a revolting pine / medicinal taste. Bad bottle.
I never quite got round to pouring the bottle down the sink and so, 2 days later, it made a guest appearance at the Emergency Offline of 26 April 2022 as bonus bottle. The nose was much cleaner although still dominated by pine and rosemary. The palate oxidised, dry and bitter (which Mike accurately described as ginger) with the wine tasting very old and dry but lead to a warm and lengthy pine finish. Improved and mildly enjoyable I gave this wine 84/100 after its 2 day decant. 84/100. Opened 24-Apr-22 but drunk 26-Apr-2022. Decanted 2 days.
