1989 Feist

Post by jdaw1 »

Fs89, 16 June 2022, brought to a tasting near Sevenoaks, at the home of a work colleague, with some of his friends. Red-brown, 30% opaque. Palate started with strong grape-pip bitterness, then some leather and a hint of mint, the only fruit being faint maraschino cherry. Reasonable length and weight. A good Port, fully mature.

An unusual Port that I’m not sure I have ever seen reported before! Thank you for posting your tasting note.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

There's very little Feist on the index so assume we don't see much in the UK? I've got a magnum of the 1985 lined up to bring along to a tasting at some point...
