Popped and decanted and double decanted and poured. Good cork came out clean. Excellent level.
Perhaps 40 per cent opaque, a rather pretty light garnet fading to yellow at the rim.
Rose hip tea on nose. Some orange and nutmeg behind that. Some tea rose.
Light sweet mouthfeel. Fairly indeterminate sugary front palate. Quite warm. Orange and cloves. Eucalyptus. Finish not intense or particularly long.
(Long?) past its (perhaps doubtful) best but not wholly unpleasurable for sipping on the sofa while one's spouse is away, without fearing that they would be deeply upset to have missed it.
