A cask sample drawn about 6 hours before being tasted.

1998 Andresen colheita cask sample - a hot year but which is developing well. Lovely iodine nose. Steely palate with terrific acidity. Dates and lemon. The acidity delivers an incredibly fresh on the palate. Dates and a little pecan pie on the finish, despite the tannins showing. A very, very fine sipping Port. Too nice and satisfying to be glugged. 91/100. Tasted 14-Oct-22.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
