A cask sample drawn about 6 hours before being tasted.

40yo tawny cask sample: huge vinagrinho nose, crushed roasted hazelnuts. A hint of red fruits on the palate, some lavender beeswax polish. Powerful acidity, a little dry tannin, sweet rose jelly. Dry rose jelly and cranberry finish. Great length. 93/100. Tasted 14-Oct-22.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
