2017 Cockburn

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Available by the glass from the upstairs tasting room at the Cockburn Lodge. Deep purple in colour. Fragrant nose of sweet plum and bramble. Poised entry, floral bramble. Firm tannins which are wonderfully perfumed. Balanced, sweet and ripe with great grip. Lovely fruit-based aftertaste and long finish. Rich and opulent. A great wine. 94/100. Tasted 15-Oct-22.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
