1970 Offley Boa Vista
Decanted 24 hours.
A good full rich red - port in its pomp.
Very spicy nose - star anise and lots of black pepper.
Sweet entry and then a palate of rich cherry syrup. Long lovely fine grained tannins on the finish.
An excellent bottle of this port. Julian says the best OBV70 he'd ever tasted.
Consumed 3/1/23

Re: 1970 Offley Boa Vista
Assuming that this bottle came from the case I purchased and then sold some onto GEAG, then some provenance...
Full unopened OWC from C&B Broking. Case and contents immaculate and assumed it was a recent release until noted the case construction - which was clearly from 1972. Checked with C&B, and vendor purchased at release and had stayed in his very cold Scottish country house cellar since it was delivered.

It was indeed from that source. It was very good indeed.
