1985 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Warre 1985, available by the glass from the Carlton Club @ £18 for a 75ml pour. Decanted about 2.5 hours ago. Warm red colour, 80% opaque. Wonderful fresh fruit salad and orange on the nose. A mass of cherry fruit on the palate with a delicious, ripe tannic structure. Soft, smooth and elegant. Fruit driven aftertaste and a hint of chocolate and menthol on the finish. The best bottle of W85 I have had in a while!  91/100. 28-Feb-23. Decanted 2½ hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
