1945 Dow

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Drunk at Hawksmoor Air Street as part of their Monday night Wine Club offer.

Dow 1945: warm rose red in colour, 40% opaque. Limited nose dominated by the fruit, cranberry with a fantastic freshness. Powerful aniseed and cranberry on the palate, generous heat on the late palate wrapped in the cranberry. A real sour fruit aftertaste, with aniseed and sours on a long aftertaste. Sour rather than Dow dry, but delicious and young. 93/100. Drunk 06-Mar-23.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
