1970 Dow
Bottled by Grants of St James. A lovely mature red colour, 40% opaque. Sweet dried fruit on the nose, but limited in volume. Delightful sweet and dried fruit on the palate, mature and perhaps drying a little. Nice orange zest develops on the late palate and leads into a delicious warm marmalade aftertaste and sticky honey finish. A lovely mature Vintage Port. 93/100. Drunk 24-Apr-23.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
