Nose and palate both OK, but unremarkable. 4/7.

Nice colour, full rich red.
Nose a bit thin.
Palate a lot thin.
I don't think this is on form.

Ck83. Glorious red, 50% opaque. And the palate was my best ever Cockburn 1983: dry, smooth, soft. Alas lacking complexity.

E: A pretty red colour, tending to light brown at the rim.
N: Nose lacking in complexity.
P: Ditto palate.

The colour of dark cherry juice, 40% opaque. A swirl releases some baked forced rhubarb. Light on the palate with dry dark chocolate tannins and some raspberry jam. A good grippy aftertaste showing lively and elegant fruit, which combine to give an impressive finish. A very attractive wine. 90/100. Decanted 3½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
