Cliff decided that we needed a Celebration of 1955, and volunteered many many bottles. Harry organised. Others were grateful. It started at lunchtime, on Tuesday 13th June 2023, at the Boot & Flogger.
The second darkest wine of the first flight, a warm red colour around 50% opaque. Gentle on the nose, a little alcohol showing and some rather dirty dried fruit. A good texture on the palate with flavours of brown sugar and dried fruit. A little drier in style than the Mackenzie but with a nice chew. A dry edge to the aftertaste and a good length, lingering cedar finish. 88/100. Tasted 13-Jun-23. Decanted 14 hours.
