1964 Dow LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A warm, burnished copper colour, 40% opaque. A beautiful nose! Perfectly mature mandarin, very expressive. Smooth on the palate, full of wonderful orange honey. A fabulous spice in the mandarin and honey. Spicy and sweet with a nice honeyed finish. Lovely, although quite straightforward. Served blind, was guessed to be Graham Malvedos 1964. 87/100. 28-Dec-23.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
