1950 Burmester Colheita, bottling date not known but from the appearance of the label and sello believed to be in the early 1970s. €32 for a 50ml pour from Garrafeira Nacional Santa Justa. Reddish-brown in colour, about 30% opaque. Rich nose, mixing butterscotch and balsamic, nicely sweet and sour. Balanced entry, burnt sugar and generous acidity giving an impressive lemon character to the wine. The lemon holds firmly on the aftertaste and on the very long finish. Really impressive and thoroughly delicious. 91/100. Tasted 02-Mar-2024.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
