Tom has kindly offered to host us at The White Horse in Newport (Essex) on Thursday 12th December.

This post is a placeholder to save the date. The usual theme of The Unknown Shipper and His Peculiar Friends will be adopted.

The usual procedure of the prior year attendees having first refusal will also be adopted with one exception — the last place from 2023 will be dropped to first reserve in order to create a space for an industry guest.

First refusal seats are offered to:

Oh yes, the Cricketer's Arms in Rickling Green is now full for the night of 12th December, so a handful of us are booked into the Cross Keys in Saffron Walden.

On Thursday, I will bring tongs and a couple of collapsible funnels. Could someone else bring muslin or filters of some kind please?

Chalk pens are also helpful.

Just for anyone planning their travel, I will be arriving in Audley End about 15.00, at the Cross Keys Hotel about 16.00 and the White Horse about 17.30. (Mike, Ian and Charles will arrive at the White Horse at the same time as me.)

Once at the White Horse I’ll either help Tom get ready or, if no help is required, have a quiet drink in the corner.
