I promised to organise a tasting in August and have been very slow to do so. But I have my act together now.
Wednesday next week. In the Green Room at the Boot & Flogger since the larger rooms are taken. This limits the number of people to 8 at the most.
Theme: Port (of any kind) younger than the 1815 vintage. Served blind.
People:
- Alex B
- Julian
- Martin
- Neil
Current draft of
the placemats.

Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Unless numbers increase should we ask to move to one of the smaller rooms (assuming availability)?
I'm working in Bermondsey on Wednesday afternoon so aiming to get to B&F around 1700.

I have advised the B&F that we will likely be 4-5 people. They are happy to leave us in the Green Room unless someone else asks to use it.
I’d also quite like to be in a room with air conditioning.

Thank you.
I’m likely to head into London early. If anyone wants to meet for a drink in 67 before the B&F, let me know.

Decanted this morning at 0800. Getting a couple of hours before being rebottled. Jury currently out re quality/condition.
Also bringing bonus starter bottle of Douro red. If nobody else is there will drink it by myself.
