1966 Dolamore

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A nice mature red-brown colour, 80% opaque. Gentle red liquorice and softly spiced fruit on the nose. A stunning flavour profile; mature yet still sweet and spicy/ Wonderful spiced fruit on the aftertaste delivering immense length. A delightful and mature wine delivering beautiful sweet redcurrant concentrate and dusty tannins. This is drinking well but with plenty of time to improve in the cellar. Served blind, this was guessed to be Fonseca 1977. 94/100. Tasted 12-Aug-20. Decanted 7½ hours.

Tasted at the mid-COVID re-opening of the Boot & Flogger.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
