Cork came out cleanly.
Alas that is more than could be said of the wine which is a medium marmalade colour with the dreaded coffee grounds. Yellow rim.
Nose of rosewater and elderly tea.
Palate of orange and coffee. Unpleasant butyric acid aftertaste. DNPMIM.
‘Ferked’ as my old friend Jo would put it. Heat damage is my guess, but possibly bacteriological.
Down the sink.

Always sad to see when a bottle of what should be delicious juice has to take the drain journey. I hope it's a lone damaged bottle, not part of a case with common issue.

This is a duff bottle from a case of 12 the first 5 of which have been delicious. I accordingly tend more towards the bacteriological explanation that the heat damage, but physics can be weird.
