Or just upload to a hosting site like Imgur or some other one (and then post the link).

Assuming you're posting from your phone, when you're in the message where you want to post the picture, click the attachments tab below the box where you are typing. The click the "Add files" button.

Tap the "Photo Library" option and select the photo you want to post. Then BEFORE YOU CLICK ADD hit "OPTIONS" in the bottom left-hand corner. Choose either medium or small (and make sure the size is less than 500KB). Then click "DONE", then "ADD", then make sure the cursor is in the right place in the text box where you want the picture to go and then tap "Place inline".

That should add your picture - you can edit your post above to put the picture in if you want to practice!

To find these instructions next time you need them, just use the site search function (top right) and look for #postapicture or even #pictures or #photo

Now you have to think which thread to use when you post your photographs of the next time you fill a new half bottle! No-one has yet posted instructions on how to do that…

Hi All,

I hate to mention Christmas, but for those interested, Vintage Wine & Port have just released the 2024 Quevedo Advent calendars, including the refill pack for those who have previously purchased one of the Prestige calendars:
The prestige calendars and refill pack contain some typically-Quevedo experimental Ports, including single varietal colheita, single vineyard colheita, a colheita made from an ex-LBV Port and a garrafeira.

Enjoy!

A friend of mine found 2 many years ago and called me to ask if the Port is any good. I told him that yes, he should buy them without thinking, and that if he didn't want them I did. As it turns out he couldn't really afford them at the time, so I got them both.

Still the only 2 bottles of it that I've ever seen. IIRC we've drunk one of them, and it was very nice.

Fortnums has half bottles of Taylor Vargellas 1998 for around GBP 18.00 (in store rather than website).

I would have stocked up on a few if i still lived in London as i thought it made for thoroughly acceptable drinking! Be prepared for a mess with the crumbly cork though (experienced on both of the bottles i purchased).

They have had some fantastic stuff recently, and at less of a premium than I'd usually associate with them.

As I was mulling over some BBR-bottled & never-left-BBR-cellars Taylor 66 bottles on their site this morning (which were at the heftier end of the scale in terms of premium), a case-worth or so suddenly disappeared. I hope purchased by someone on this forum! I did snaggle the last couple despite promises to myself to stop purchasing...

Waitrose have discounted the Warre's Bottle Aged LBV to £22.99 until 12/11/24. Website suggests it's the 2009.

Vintage Wine and Port are running a Black Friday sale. Mostly 10%-15% discounts on a few bottles.

This 1973 Devesa White caught my eye at £50 for a 50cl that is 50yo (family bottling, so not a formal colheita). Noting the favourable reviews on this forum, I have bought several.

We've just had an offer from Quinta de Vale da Figueira's and their UK agent for us to be able to buy unbroken (6-bottle) cases of Quinta de Vale da Figueira's 10 YO tawny (the 2022 bottling).

These are priced at £150 per 6-pack, which includes duty, VAT and delivery to the UK agent's offices in Victoria (from where we have to collect the bottles). Of course, we're free to split 6-packs once we've collected them.

My opinion is that this is one of the best - if not the best - 10 YO tawny available. It's so good, that it would give some 40 YO blends a run for their money. There are some tasting notes from me and Jacob on the Tasting Note database.

I already have orders for 2 6-packs. Anyone else interested?

Waitrose are doing their "Fine Wines at £10" promotion again (until 1/1/2025) which includes some interesting bottles...

...including Warre's King's Tawny Port - which is apparently reduced from £15.99.

Ever since late last year when the Warre LBV vintage switched over to 2011 I’ve been waiting for this moment. Waitrose have just kicked off their “Buy 6 bottles and get 25% off” sale.

That brings a bottle of LBV down to £21.38.

You’re welcome.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
