1970 Graham
1970 Graham. From Andy Milner’s cellar. Decanted 1 hour. Vibrant rose red, 40% opaque. Glorious nose, floral yet so full of fruit. Wonderful mouthfuls of fruit on the palate, surprisingly tight with a little tannin still on the youthful palate — just crammed full of fruit! Lingering reduction of redcurrant and loganberry. Simply delicious and rather stunning. 94/100. Drunk on 12-Dec-2024 in tribute to Andy Milner at the 2024 Port Forum Christmas Tasting of The Unknown Shipper and His Peculiar Friends.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Re: 1970 Graham
Sounds incredibly youthful (in a good way) for a 54 year old wine!

Licorice note on nose so strong it's almost burnt rubber. Youthful, not too dry. Beautiful condition. Violets, late. We raised our glasses.
