NV Messias White 10YO

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Messias White 10YO - 6cl sample tube not properly sealed and which had leaked a little in transit. A warm golden colour. Gentle tinned peaches on the nose, with a bitterness to the sweet fruit on the palate. A long finish of white radish - herbaceous but bitter - with a distinct minerality to it. No, not white radish; over-ripe tinned peaches which have picked up the taste of the metal from the inside of the tin. There are much better 10YO white Ports available.  82/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
