NV Fletcher Tawny 10YO (bottled 2020)

Post by nac »

A 4.5 litre bottled (bottled 2020), purchased in Aldi in 2020 or 2021.
Opened 3rd December 2024 & this note on drinking the final glass 12th February 2025.

When first opened this was really quite unpleasant. However, was put in the cellar and decanted off a half bottle at a time over a couple of months. Showed significant improvement over time.

Still quite red, only just tawny. Rancio note and fairly obvious alcohol. Palate is more balanced and alcohol there but not out of kilter. Tastes of bitter orange peel, fruit cake and licorice. Quite long.

Good, not great. Drink up the 2020 bottling.
