1970 Taylor

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Taylor 1970. Tasted 19-Feb-2025. A lovely dark rose-red colour, 80% opaque. A little bottle stink on the nose making the wine smell unattractive. Mature on the palate, but bitter - perhaps weevil damaged. There is fuit under the bitter tone but the wine is not very nice. 83/100. Guess:GM82. Was:T70!
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Agree--not what I would expect from a T70. To me a flawed bottle.
