Nice! I'd love to have those; i only have full bottles and they probably won't be ready for a long time.

@ MigSu - at a very good price too, from Seckfords - about £29 each delivered. They only had one 12 pack and I did not hesitate.

Broadly, interesting wine in halves in the secondary market is of compelling interest to me. I do have some bottles of the Dow 17 as well but am probably too old to buy more.

14 x Bomfim ‘13 @ £20.80 each. Did a deal with an Asda branch to take the last of their stock. Pointed out that at £32 it would sit there till next Christening! Sense prevailed😊🍷

That's a very nice score, Neil! I especially like Ramos Pinto's Ports, although I've never had a Mackenzie. What auction did you win them at?

At auction the following Ports were purchased all in for €250.00:
2 x G63
1 x S63
1 x T60
1 x D66
1 x Unknown 66
I’m not sure if this is just an Irish thing but all these bottles were plain unlabelled Irish bottled Port and there was no interest. I was the only bidder on one lot and the other lot had no bids and I did a deal for them later. Anyway the story is that they were the last bottles in the cellar of a man who died in his mid 90’s and were bought soon after bottling and cellared since then. All bottles were into neck and no leakage. There were in total 41 bottles put up for sale, they have gone to a good home and I hope that when my time comes I’ll leave (not too many I hope) mine in similar condition.

One bottle of 1974 Quinta da Eira Velha

Condition isn't great, but there's no note for this and don't expect we'll find another bottle
Label says "...shipped and bottled in 1977..."

It belongs to Álvaro and Fernando van Zeller, but I don't know if it's formally under the umbrella of Barão de Vilar.

We visited in 2021, and IIRC Palmer, Maynard's, Fletcher, and Feuerheerd are all brands under the Barão de Vilar umbrella.

There was some recent discussion about Fletcher being a BOB now, but my memory from 2021 had it as a brand of Barao de Vilar. My memory could be wrong.

I've had the Barão de Vilar 10 year old white a few times and it was very good. They were also selling for about $17 per 500 ml bottle when I was able to find them 3 years ago. I still have 3 or 4 bottles left. I've never seen a Palmer 10 year old white, but if it's anything like the Barão de Vilar 10 year old white it should be very nice.

Anyone know anything about the last item. It says it was bottled by Churchills in 1998. It has a t stopper but I think Churchills only do unfiltered?

A t-stopper doesn't mean for certain the wine was filtered before bottling, but it's a 6 year bottling and I think Churchill these days are normally 4 years.

How much sediment is there in the bottle?

That's an excellent haul, Neil. The Calem Quinta da Foz are rare as hen's teeth over here in the U.S. and to score 7 of them is really nice. I'm curious how it will show at the '70's horizontal in October. Of course the Noval and SW will be very tasty as well.

Cheers! Have been looking for V94 for a while now, so was surprised to find two separate auctions that offered it about simultaneously; and even more surprised that I was able to purchase both. Mike W. and I won at auction last night:

2 @ 1994 Croft
4 @ 2004 Krohn
6 @ 2002 Q de Roriz
6 @ 1991 Delaforce
6 @ 2002 Davis Bynum Port (Mike says made with Malbec grapes)
12 @ 1997 Chateau La Foret Sauternes

An odd assortment for sure....but we got it at a v good price (would have been better but a last day bidder pushed it way up).
