I think for now I will limit this to 12 attendees until it is clear how many bottles will be available. I will buy one or two extra bottles if we cannot source enough between us. I will not allocate who should bring what until the attendees list is more complete.

nac = Neil (ChAA, GM, N)
MSC = Martin (V, Os) - new date tbc
AHB = Alex (N, Cs, Pe, V, W - 4 year bottling)
JDAW = Julian (WC, Ts, G LBV) - new date tbc
flash_uk = Mike M (to adopt)
idj123 = Ian (V)
CPR = Charles (FG, TV, TVVV)
DC =Michael M guest
Reserve list:
Wine Secretary = George

I'd be up for it but I have none now - we drank my sole bottle of 1995 Osborne a few weeks ago. Early November good, can't do August.
There are many more ports than I remember seeing or tasting so it would be educational. Albeit some are unicorn notes I suspect we can probably find 15 or so of them.

Mike - do you know of any other Quinta da Chousa vintages? That’s a new Quinta for me. Any more information on it would be really interesting.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Alex,
Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any other vintage for the Martinez Quinta da Chousa. I won it at an auction last September for under $40 all in. I only bought it because John M. (aka Big Love) and I are planning a 1995 wine horizontal sometime this year. It popped up, so I grabbed it. At the time I bought it I did scour the internet seeing if I could find anything out about it or to see if there were other vintages of it, but I came up empty. I had no idea such a bottle even existed before I saw it at the auction.
If you'd like, I could post a pic of the front label. It doesn't say much, but you could get a sense of the bottle at least. The back label is all government warnings, but no history or story about the Quinta.

Thanks all. Definitely looks like there will be enough interest and bottles to make an evening of this. As I have never booked a room for Port Forum at B&F, is there a particular way to do this or person to contact? Also what is the name of the best room to book? Thanks.
has an base food order form on it .... the default food order is mostly upto date except for when stuff has been removed from the menu.
Your going to want to book the RedRoom and can do with with a chap called Ollie whos email address is bootandflogger@davy.co.uk
That will get you a confirmation booking number DMN- plus a load of numbers which you can bung on the food order when you have it completed ..
If you want PM me a phone number for you and I can run through the whole process .... it's a bit like herding cats .... except with cats they all like wiskers ..... but then everybody likes Port .....
I have now booked the Boot & Flogger Red Room for Tuesday 18 November. This was about the best gap I could find in a fairly hectic port diary (shout if I have messed it up at all!). Now we have a date I would appreciate it if people could confirm attendance (or not). Appreciate this might not be quite as exciting sounding as some of the other tastings this year but should be fun. Thanks
Won't be able to make it on that date, due to work obligations I'm rather limited in my availability sadly; and already took some time off for the Portwieinmesse later that month.
I plan to update this thread with attendees and bottles at the weekend. If anyone needs to change/confirm anything or wants to be added, please can you do so today or tomorrow. Right now there looks to be plenty of spaces Thanks
Initial post now updated. Please let me know any updates or changes needed. I have put a couple of people as date tbc as it was not clear if they could make the actual date. Thanks
That is a great addition George. I am planning to buy two or so more in the next month or so (Ramos Pinto seems to be fairly common for example) but waiting to see if anyone else comes forward first with new bottles.
I have unfortunately had a work nightmare and now need to be overseas during this week. Apologies. So annoying! Anyway the options for this evening now are:
1 someone takes the evening over and runs it. Happy to still provide 2 bottles for the tasting.
2 I move it into next year and run in the first part of 2026.
3 I simply cancel.
Any preferences? Happy to go with consensus.
Sorry again.
Before I go back to the Boot and Flogger, can I check if there is any preference between Tuesday 13 January and Tuesday 20 January? I have a slight preference for 13 January but only slight.
