1985 Taylor

Post by jdaw1 »

As organised by Neil C., some regulars and at least one first-timer gathered at the Boot and Flogger to taste 1985s at Forty.

t85, dark red, 40% opaque. Soft, black pepper spice, very hot, but the heat in balance with the pepper, and extremely good. Little fruit.

50% opacity, mature red. Nose has damson, tobacco leaf. Round and full, cranberries and cherries. Little bit of acidity and ehat mid palate, plus pepper, but sweet nonetheless. Alright port, but have had other T85 that were much better than this.
