Mk55. Dark red and still appearing quite youthful; 60% opaque. Lovely bramble fruit on the nose. Dark bramble fruit with a lovely perfume on the palate. Rich and dark, but also very sweet. A little dark chocolate and blackcurrant jam on a long finish. Very nice, but a bit weird for a Port from 1955, which is supposed to be full of mature, spiced fruit. 87/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
