GC55, selected and shipped by Clode & Baker, bottled by Grants of St James. A brown toned mature brick red with a little sediment at the bottom of the glass. Gloriously expressive nose, showing lots of dried cranberry. Smooth entry, initially a little hollow, slightly dried out with generous ripe - and slightly lacking in acidity - fruit. The acidity, however, does manage to show well on the late palate and aftertaste to deliver a wine which is really rather good overall. 93/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
