2019 Quevedo LBV (bottled 2024)

Post by winesecretary »

From 90ml. 19.5%.

Purple, with violet rim

Slightly confected nose with sherbet and warm balsamic macerated strawberries.

Very sweet on the palate. ‘Marshmallow port!’ Says my co-taster. And then, half-way back in the mouth, it’s just gone. Bang. Nothing. Extraordinary.

There’s some chocolate if you really chew for it.

Intriguing! Do you think it's a good LBV?

It’s not to my taste. I yield to no-one in my admiration for their 40YO tawny but this LBV is not for me.

Fair enough! I will probably end up buying some but might be a bit more restrained until I can actually taste it myself.
