Dm70: red-orange, 20% opaque; no nose; nut palate long, sweet, bright cherries, soft. This was good Port. Two points to this and to the Thienpoint (Butler Nephew).

A nice pale red. Nice rich palate. Good mouthfeel.

1970 Dolamore. Believed to be a wine merchant’s blend of different shippers. Bronze red, mature and impressive in its appearance. Nothing on the nose at first but some vigorous swirling forces a little redcurrant jelly from the glass with an overlay of dried herbs. The palate shows some lovely dried red fruit, backed by lemon oil and citrus acidity. Good depth of flavour leads in to slightly spicy cranberry and redcurrant finish. Nice, but inoffensive rather than good. 84/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
