Reddish. paling rim. Palate of cranberries and almond. Alive, happily, but nothing like the league of the 1955.

1970 Mackenzie. Oporto bottled. Mature bronze colour, about 50% opaque. Sweet and fragrant nose with plenty of dried fruit and a scattering of dried herbs. Pleasing complexity and a good length finish. One of the few wines from flight 0 which could happily sit in the cellar without deteriorating. 87/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
