Hunt Roope 1970: red-brown, 20% opaque; palate light and soft, light heat mid-palate. Had we been paper scoring I would have HM’d.

Nose pleasant. Real port but over the hill.

1970 Hunt Roope. Bronze-red colour, 50% opaque. A lovely nose of dried red fruit with a similar flavour profile on the palate. Sweet, dried berry fruit with a lovely intensity. The intensity blossoms on the aftertaste with a little dryness on the edges. Rather nice. 87/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
