ROC70: brown, 30% opaque; nose of mint; palate was “no!”.

Brown, pale rim. Warm palate, but not really port.

1970 Royal Oporto Quinta das Carvalhas. Oporto bottled. A murky appearance that makes the wine look rather unattractive. A little better on the nose but on the palate the wine is very evolved to the point of being bland. There is some berry fruit on the palate, which shows better on the aftertaste and finish - lots of orange citrus jelly. Hollow, with not much to it. 82/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
