W70: glorious dark red, 65% opaque; dry with dark cherries, intense white pepper mid-palate, but light at end. Liked, but too light for points.

1970 Warre. Dark brick red, darker than the BBR own selection tasted alongside. Faint but attractive spiced fruit nose. Rather lovely raspberry and bramble fruit on the palate. Elegant and beautifully balanced with a gentle, fruit-led lingering loganberry finish. This is a wine I like!  93/100. Double decanted 3 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Note taken on 12/10/25 from sample kindly bottled on night. Now indistinguishable in colour from the BBR. Nose possibly slightly fruitier than the BBR. Palate has nice raspberries but is softer than the BBR. Attractive, but I prefer the BBR tonight.

50% opacity, rich red. Bramble on the nose. Lovely rich, full mouthfeel, concentrated raspberries. Liked enough for a point from me.
