Hi All,
I know we have many many members from all over the world here, but I want to ask....were do you get all your port wine news from? In the UK we have select magazines focused on wine such as Decanter magazine that sometimes feature port, but what do YOU use to stay up to date? Facebook groups maybe? News letter groups like FTLOP? or do you solely rely on this beautiful forum?
Let me know!

Re: The Source
I tend to get my Port news from here, FTLOP, Decanter, FaceBook / Instagram and direct mailings from the producers. If I get something direct, I tend to post the news here.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Pretty much here, unless I'm looking for VP scores en primeur. There are people with great connections and they will often share news here that's not generally mentioned online, since a lot of the wine sites seem to see port as a niche that's fine to just dip into from time to time.
Re: The Source
I get mine from FTLOP and here, and occasionally from one of the producers or people that I follow on Facebook.
Also just word of mouth. Not everything that is known is posted here or on FTLOP, so some of it just floats around in the Portosphere until it occurs to someone to post it somewhere.

Yeah, this is true. I occasionally hear whispers here and there, and only later does it occur to me "Oh, maybe I should post this on TPF".Glenn E. wrote: ↑16:46 Wed 12 Nov 2025 I get mine from FTLOP and here, and occasionally from one of the producers or people that I follow on Facebook.

The portosphere, i love it
yeah i met roy hersh of FTLOP earlier this year, absolute gem and his connections are astounding. I was trying to make it on to his tour in september but I just couldn't make it work
I hear you with the niche thing, it's a real shame as there is plenty to go at in the port world......sorry.....portosphere, but it's hard to collate.
I noticed a few producers are sloooowly starting to produce youtube content also. I know Oscar from quevedo has a bit of a channel going

Before he moved to Porto, Roy lived about 3 miles from me. I'd get calls on random nights asking what I was doing, and I quickly learned that the proper response was "nothing Roy, what do you have in mind?"
His tours are pretty special! They're intense, but the access you get and the Ports you get to drink are things that normal people simply can't do on their own.
