Porto 26-29th Jan
Porto 26-29th Jan
I have just booked a short city break in Porto for a few days at the end of January and was wondering if anyone else is likely to be in the city around that time - if you are please let me know!

Unfortunately, not me. But January is a nice time to visit, it's much quieter - but beware of short working days and venues closing early.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny

I might be, I'll wrangle up a few drunks and we can have lunch, if you're available.

Excellent! I'll be arriving late afternoon on the 26th and have work calls I'll have to attend to on the 27th so how about drinks in the evening on the 27th or lunch on the 28th?MigSU wrote: ↑13:47 Thu 15 Jan 2026I can be there between the 26th and the 29th.

I'll make the necessary arrangements for lunch on the 28th (the drunks have to be wrangled). If I can make it on the 27th I'll let you know.

Thanks to Miguel for a very enjoyable lunch yesterday, a good choice of location that I wouldn't have found otherwise! Would recommend to anyone who happens to be in Boavista in the daytime:

The market is nice if you want to open some bottles (which I often do). They'll pretend to enforce the rule that you can't bring outside food or drink, and we'll pretend to respect it. That way everybody's in the clear, and everybody can get on with their business (including the red terrorists).
