GM95. Ruby red in colour, 80% opaque. Pleasant lavender perfume to the fruit on the nose, fruit which is barely distinguishable from the LBV poured alongside. More depth to the wine than to the LBV with tannins still just showing in the ripe fruit. Warm aniseed and raspberry aftertaste and lingering aniseed finish. Tasty, but still young enough to be relatively simple. 87/100.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
