W95 LBV, decanted 90 minutes. Probably the darkest of the wines at this 1995 tasting. Dark ruby red with an opaque centre. Dusty black cherry on the rich, fruity nose. Dense and restrained on the palate, slowly revealing more black cherry with a little balsamic on the aftertaste. Such wonderful richness, the only weakness of the wine is its relatively short aftertaste. But the palate is everything you would want in a Vintage Port. Fabulous! 92/100.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
