30% opacity, brown. Molasses on the nose. Full mouthfeel, syrupy, candied oranges, lip-licking aftertaste.

Mature dark orange colour, 25% opaque. The nose is hollow and empty at first but does develop a little with a bit of time in the glass. A lovely texture on the palate but empty of flavour. The mid-palate is light and pleasant but this odd port only really starts to deliver the palate experience just before you swallow the wine. The acidity is fresh and supports an enjoyable fragrant aftertaste that is full of dried orange zest and has a good length. 86/100. Decanted 2½ hours.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
