20% opacity, brown-orange, amber rim. Soft, sweet oranges on the nose. Smooth entry, rich & syrupy, extracted orange fruit, simple and balanced.

Pale orange colour, very lightly pigmented. Sweet and honeyed nose but showing little of any interest. The entry is much nicer, showing a lovely rose and Turkish Delight perfume that is delicate and interesting. A long Turkish Delight flavoured finish. An unusual wine from this vintage which is elegant and refined rather than showing power; lovely but light. 87/100. Decanted 3 ½ hours.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
