30% opacity, mature red. Bitterness on the nose? Stewey red fruit. Quite an alcoholic entry, acidic bitterness mid palate. Extracted dry red fruit - strawberry.

Deep mature red colour, 40% opaque. Sweetened cranberries on the nose bringing a nice mixture of fruit and sharp acidity. Sweet fruit on the palate, elegant and refined. Air on the palate brings a new element of green leaf and highlights the generous tannins. A lovely mouthful which is full of rich fruit flavours. A little heat shows on the aftertaste from the acidity and a load of tannins grab the attention on the aftertaste before the sweet fruit comes through properly on the long finish. This is a really nice mouthful of Port, with years ahead of it still. 92/100. Decanted 9 hours.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
