1975 Fonseca. Mature red-bronze colour with a ruby tone, 40% opaque. Nice floral and cherry nose but with a little harshness. Sweet Bing cherry fruit on the palate but there is an aniseed heat and a little harshness to the fruit. Straightforward and tasty, this is in the same class as a well-made and mature LBV. 88/100.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: DR Very Old White, Graham Stone Terraces 2011, Quevedo Branco 1986 b.2026
