Seven years ago we commemorated Victoria’s 200th (planning, review).

It is a good precedent, and Tuesday 21st April 2026 would have been the hundredth birthday of the late Queen Elizabeth II. For Victoria the theme was “Port Fit for a Queen, again”, the theme for E2>V having been “Port Fit for a Queen”. It is still a splendid theme.

Sighted.

You know what to do. Do it.

(It is acknowledged that this is only one week after ’60 @ 66. (Edit, following Mike’s comment: and two days before the 2011 tasting.) So?)

Sadly this is too soon after the 1960 tasting and too close to the 2011 tasting for me to be likely to make it.

Put me down as a reserve please. There’s a small chance I could make it..

I shall be listening the The Dream of Gerontius. And, no doubt, thinking about Her late Majesty. And port.

Fabulous idea, yes please.
(Minor note: I am unlikely to be able to make both this and the '60 tasting, but since I am currently only reserve for the '60 tasting, I'll now make this as the priority)

To which I took Warre 1966, so, precedent having been set, I’ll bring a Warre 1966 for E2’s Cth. Others, please reveal.

May I bring a Warre 77? Tenuous link but it was a Jubilee year.

This sounds like an excellent idea.
I've just joined. JDAW and I met on the comments pages of the FT where I also use the name Chateau d'Yquem. I'm keen on port too but I don't have a cellar. So I'd like to join but could I adopt from somebody?

In the FT there was a good comment from somebody with handle “Vintage Chateau d'Yquem”. Doing nothing was never going to be a sensible possibility.

Edit: OJS adopting one of the KL70 that was excess from last year’s horizontal, in return for an extra £60 to the team food bill (as well as own share). The placemats have been updated, as have the images in the first post.

Only those with a subscription to the FT will know just how good the comments were...

Am attempting to acquire a 1952 for this. Should know if successful by the end of this week.
If unsuccessful then will probably bring another 1977.

I shall bring a Koppenhagen 1947 (believed Dow) being the year of Elizabeth's marriage.

in case it helps, the queen's children were all born in decent port years - perhaps except for Anne, unless you live at Raby.
