2024 Fonseca

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A walkaround tasting of cask samples at the Montrachet Wines EP tasting of 2025 Bordeaux on 29 April 2026.

Fonseca 2024. Transparent red centre and coming with such a fragrant nose, so floral! A wonderful elegance on the palate, carrying pure fruit with delicate and soft tannins lurking in there. The interplay of flavours on the aftertaste and finish is astonishing. Such a beautiful wine with so much grace yet everything needed to carry on for a lifetime or two. This is one I will buy in halves to drink over the next 2-3 years - and leave a note in the empty box to apologise to my children and grandchildren. 95-97/100.
