1937 Niepoort Colheita (bottled 1979)

Bottled 1979. Cloudy appearance, deep honey colour with a green rim. Nose dominated by spirit but otherwise very little on the nose. Sweet into the mouth, lots of sugar and then the acidity comes through in a balanced way. The aftertaste starts extremely well but drops off disappointingly quickly and loses a point from the score for this. 91/100. Drunk June 2007.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
