1983 Warre vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Very pale red with a transparent centre and briking on the rim. A sweet nose of toffee apples. Very balanced on entry, mature and with wonderful integration of the fruit and tannins. The mid-palate complexity takes time to show through, but really rewards patience. A big aftertaste with lots of licorice root all over it. An excellent bottle. 93/100. Tasted 27/11/08.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
