Re: 1970 Gould Campbell VP
Pale in colour, light centre and a pale pink rim. Warm nose of cherry jam with a meaty / leathery overtone. Medium bodied; light and pleasant fruit and with a generous dose of tannins supporting a lovely sweet and spiced fruitiness. Very attractive and elegant aftertaste that is really worth working the cheeks to enjoy. Drink now or in the (near) future. 90/100. Drunk 28 June 2009.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.
2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!
