1987 Quinta do Crasto vintage port
Clear, ruby colour with the colour of the rim consistent with the rest of the port. Youthful nose, with some cranberry sharpness. Sweet fruit in the mouth, a lovely structure and nice development. There is still enough tannin to keep the port developing further in the cellar. Quite light bodied. Delicious. The aftertaste is a little low key, but is warm and sweet. 91/100. Drunk 29 June 2009.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
