2003 Quinta do Crasto vintage port
18,000 bottles produced; normal production being 6-22,000. Deep and solid red. Opulent fruit on a nose which is quite open. A good texture, nicely silky. Tannins grip gently but not excessively, with more ripe acidity than the 2000 shown alongside. Delightful development in the mouth. Complete with a gentle but complex aftertaste. 90/100. Drunk 29 June 2009.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
