1963 Fonseca vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep cherry red in colour - and candied cherries on the nose and in the mouth. Still showing tannins. A bottle at its peak of maturity and showing very nicely. The aftertaste is spicy, big and enjoyable but fades a little too quickly to be ideal. Very fine, but not as good as most bottles. 86/100. Drunk 26 June 2009.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
